Alright, people. We have made a few changes to the current September reading schedule. Although it was my idea to squeeze Grendel into the gap between novels this month, I took that suggestion back when I realized that I was having such a hard time motivation myself to finish Atonement. So we are using these three extra days to finish it. We’ll bring Grendel back some other time.
The other change was also my idea. If any of you are reading along with us on Atonement right now, you’ll understand me when I say that it is a huge Debbie-downer type of book. From what I hear, A Clockwork Orange is similarly depressing and controversial and, I’ll just be honest, I am in need of a break from the gut-wrenchingly depressing. So, I thought creepy orphans might be a nice change of pace that will get us pumped and ready for the Halloween season! So we are going to read Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children starting Wednesday and carrying through the remainder of the month. It sounds like it is going to excellent so I encourage you all to read along!
And don’t forget that we are going to be reading horror stories throughout October. Check out our reading list page for the schedule!
